Okay, so for those who like to keep things clean, what are some of the things you do to keep the interior and exterior clean, what products do you use, what towels do you use to dry, things like that.

Is there anything to stay away from? With the dash or the alloy wheels, what would be something that would scratch those for example.

I have already become very protective of my new Rogue. I haven't washed it myself yet, but I have found some handy items I am not keeping in my glove box since it is so big!! They are interior cloth fabric cleaning wipes and window cleaning wipes. I bought them at Wal-mart. I have tested the fabric and they didn't change the color of my SL gray cloth and they took dirt away quickly without getting out my steam cleaner.

In regard to other types of cleaning, the most important thing is to use clean, dirt free rags/sponges when cleaning. Good Luck!!

don't use armour all. it dries out and cracks your plastic/leather surfaces. It's purposely designed that way to keep you using it, like crack.

Interesting. What would you use as an alternative that would get thesame results?

well armour all leaves a temporary 'wet look', so the only thing i can think of to get the same results would be olive oil which would would smell just lovely to boot.

seriously though, a simple chamois and water to wipe clean & dry should be all that's ever needed The super-crazy types could use distilled water to avoid all the hard minerals, chlorine and fluorides in tap water I suppose.

some useful preventative tips:Avoid parking under trees - most trees drip sap in a very fine mist.

Keep a spray bottle of water and paper towels to wipe off Bird crap as needed.

Understanding the effect of the sun, specifically UV rays. You can see this on motorcycles best, is the aging and dulling effect on painted, fake leather and certain plastic pieces. Only takes about 3-4 years to see the effects if you're parked outdoors 24-7. So this extends to parking in garages and shade as much as possible.

I would definitely avoid parking with the front window to the sun, and having the sun's rays beating down on the dash. Maybe one of those aluminum soft window covers might be a good idea, or just park with the back to the sun if possible, keeps the interior cooler anyways.

I don't know if wax has any UV protectors, but keeping a good coat of wax on the paint job can't hurt. Just don't wash/wax on hot, cloudless days.

chomping down on burgers, fries and pizzas while driving makes it easy to track grease and salt all over the interior and seats. And Smoker's cars are just filthy, they leave a fine layer of kerosene, arsenic, tar and all the other wonderful chemicals just everywhere (not to mention the lungs!)

In terms of the exterior, I have been researching products that protect and produce an outstanding shine. Check out the site for Zaino products http://www.zainostore.com. This is better than wax products. The testimonials and photos speak for themselves. For about $50-60 you can purchase online about 4 of their products for a new car that will give it a lasting mirror shine. I will be ordering mine tommorow. They also have a very good customer service center where you can ask questions. I have also considered getting a clear bra to protect against rock chips but the cost is $500-600 and I am not sure about putting out this kind of money. The Rogue already gets people looking but I think having it shine better than when bought and protecting my new investment is worth a few dollars.
