Think he's wanting it to charge when he's out of the car and the ignition is completely off.Vahagn23 wrote:you can turn the key to the last position before you start the car and that enables all the electronics to work, yet not running the car.
Meaning any 12V device you plug in (cigarette lighter or otherwise) doesn't work? There have been problems with the 12V sockets going bad on the V. Mine did that... took it into the dealership and they replaced the socket and it works fine now.Vahagn23 wrote:sorry to jump in your post, but I didnt want to start a new one. Does anyone know a cigarette lighter adapter which would work for the V??I have the lighter itself and it doesnt work, I bought some replacement adapter wouldnt fit in. Any ideas? thanks
Who? I didn't do the classic noob mistake and repost a question that was answered over and over did I?KimberKenobi wrote:ya know, I think I remember someone doing this...
Technically it's actually a 12V power socket, not a cigarette lighter. Cigarette lighters aren't actually an option for the Versa.Vahagn23 wrote:I cant even pop the lighter in. It wont stick in it. I can charge my phone and GPS in it perfectly fine, but the lighter wont work. Are there different sizes for the lighters?
Right, and be careful to check the amp rating. The Versa's power socket has a 15-amp fuse, and many real cigarette lighters require 20 amps. You could change the fuse at the box to a 20, since that's the only thing on the circuit, but I'd want someone who knows more about it verify whether the wiring to the socket will support the extra amperage.Ever Victorious wrote:Technically it's actually a 12V power socket, not a cigarette lighter.... So this may be a case where you need an aftermarket lighter.
