Check engine light comes on when the clutch is engaged, thoughts?

Hi everyone! I just test drove a 93 TT and while I love the car, when I engage the clutch while driving, the check engine and hicas lights come on and the oil pressure drops to zero. I've never seen this before and searching the forums isn't helping. Any ideas? Should I avoid this car at all cost?

Is the car dying / stalling between shifts?
