yeah, go with progressive, they are pretty cheap, but as with every insurance company, they can screw you over like they did my brother.

if you (or your parents) are/were in the armed forces, you can get USAA insurance, and let me say, they are AMAZING.

A quote for both s14s and S13s is $300 for 6 months (liability and comprehensive). With collision its $600/6mo, but even that its pretty damn cheap compared to EVERYONE else. Insurance companies call the house and ask me what I have... when I tell em USAA they apologise and say they cant beat that. Now THATS service!

im impressed. the 240sx must be pretty good in insurance.

i pay $57 a month for liability only and im 23/m/wyoming driving an 86 s10 blazer and that is with progressive. next closest was 90 a month.

and i have a near perfect driving record.

im guessing sport utilities have real high insurance now even one as old as mine

Oh and any other companies besides progressive or geico? cuz it turned out to be that "15 minute call can save you 15% or more on your car insurance" was all B.S. :bsflag it was more like 15 minute call can waste 15 minutes of my life...

Careful, try not to buy ins. just because its cheap. Im having a hell of a time with a claim right now just because I chose a cheap carrier. I was in a minor fender bender with an uninsured motorist almost 5 WEEKS ago, and my insurance company JUST looked at my car last weekend after HUNDREDS of calls. Just sayin, look into the company before you purchase based on price.

BTW Coast National is the company FU(KING me right now, through Eastwood, yeah they suck. Gave me a really low estimate too, well have that changed soon:)

I have a 92 240SX and I just got a quote from Allstate. They want to charge me ~$350 for 6 months. That's for the minimum coverage required in California. I have a very poor driving record though.

don't go through allstate... I did that free quote thing, they quoted me at $1800/6 months for a '91 240sx, or $1750/6 months for my '90 Mazda MPV Minivan. What a joke... That car ain't even worth $1750...

Is that for full coverage? What's your driving record like?

Once I get my record back into shape, I'm going to try to go back to State Farm. They're compartitively <sp?> expensive, but the extra money is worth it when you get into an accident. The cheap ***, bargain basement insurance places will jerk you around to the point where you nearly need to sue them to get a good settlement. State Farm on the other hand, I've had good luck with them and everyone I've known who has had to deal with them, has been happy.

Unless your parents are the worst drivers in the world, your insurance will be cheaper by being on their policy. Most insurance companies give multi-car discounts.

If you wanted to get REALLY cheap insurance, see if you can be listed as the secondary (ie NOT primary driver) on the vehicle. If lets say your mom is 35+ and a great driver... list her as the primary for 'your' car. Have your folks tell the insurance company that they're only going to allow you to drive the car on the weekend, once you've earned the right by doing all your homework or whatever.

Oh yeah, home work... that reminds me. Most insurance companies will give you a Good Student Discount if you're getting 'good' grades. For most companies, 'good' is 3.0+.

That was pretty much full coverage with a pretty high deductible. I have an impeccable driving history, I am 19 and male.
