Cheap exhaust or muffler

I hate the way my muffler looks on the V. Its so hard to see and way too smal. I want either a muffler like the ones on the Mazda 3 or a bigger Muffler like on an impreza..anywhere that i could find one that will for sure fit the Versa?

You either get an axle back system, wait for a cat back system, or buy a muffler you want and go to a muffler shop to have them weld it on to the stock pipe or run new pipe.

Only ones I'd approve are waiting for the cat back or picking a muffler and getting a custom cat back system made (something bigger than stock piping).

If you want cheap.... look into the Cherry Bomb Turbo dual outlet muffler. Should run you about $35-40 and another $30-60 for a shop to weld it up.

FYI, the stock muffler on an Impreza is just as invisible as the one on the Versa. a WRX's muffler is bigger, but that's because it's a turbo.

If you can easily see the tip of an Impreza's muffler, it's either aftermarket, or they bought (or the dealer installed) a tailpipe finisher.

Changing out your muffler will change the way your Versa sounds, more than likely making it louder. If that's ok with you, go for it. If you want to give your car a little more "sparkle" without changing the sound, and without costing a lot of money, you could get a tailpipe finisher installed. They're cheap.

Everything will be universal, you will need to measure how much room you have to fit something in. Or get a muffler shop to.

You'll have to measure the stock muffler on your car, and then determine if there will be enough room for the CB Turbo. I don't think it should be a problem, as it's a fairly compact muffler, but measurements need to be made.

This was very similar to the sound I got from my '88 Escort EXP. Not so much the high pitched rasp at higher revs, but mine was the deep mellow burble since I still had the stock resonator (I liked it better that way anyhow).

if you want go for the Tanabe axle back system. there is better air flow and has a low rumble.

No problem. The stock muffler is fairly large and has protrusions for the hangars, but that shouldn't be a problem to fab up for most capable exhaust shops.
