I am planning to take the trans out of my 90 nissan 240sx coupe which i wrecked not to long ago. I will be putting into my 89 nissan 240sx hatchback. Will there be any problems with doing this and is there anything i need to be ready for? Thanks for all your help.

P.S. I am thinking of selling the motor out of the wrecked 240. which is in great shape. Nothing got hurt on it just all body. I am fixing the Body bo paying for a sr20 swap. Let me know if you might want to buy the motor.

The swap should be fairly straight forward, if you've never done a transmission swap before i would sujest you buy a hayne's/chilton manual for the car and follow the instructions in it. Otherwise, its fairly straight forward, remove drivelin, clutch slave, starter, stick, wires, support with jack, remove transmission support, then transmission to engine bolts, slide back carefully out of clutch disc and past the pressure plate, then lower... sometime it help to jack up the front of the engine, which tips the motor back to you can slide it out easyer...

Thanks For the Replys. I am sure to find this all helpfull. For some reason though i can't find a hayne's manual for my car. Maybe its just the parts places around dont carry them. Any ideas on where to find one? Also I would be intrested in selling any parts Off the car or motor. If anyone is intrested e-mail me at shockdaglobe@hotmail. Thanks Once again
