Anyone know what I can do to re-sync it? It's really frustrating!!!
2011 M37x
Thanks
Yes. Even bought a pack of 2025s and a different brand (Duracell) of 2032 and still won''t work. Trying to avoid having to go to the dealer every time the fob battery needs to get changed. The other key fob shows low battery, so I'm sure that one will lose sync too when I change it out.
My guess is you're thinking of this message:SwissCheeseHead wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 11:46 amHas anyone ever seen a message on the screen saying "pairing with key" or something to that effect? Anyone knows what that means?
I see. That makes complete sense. Thank you.emm3seven wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 2:30 pmMy guess is you're thinking of this message:SwissCheeseHead wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 11:46 amHas anyone ever seen a message on the screen saying "pairing with key" or something to that effect? Connection with the key has been done
As to the explanation for that message, from page 3-28/3-29 of the 2011 M owner's manual:
SETTING MEMORY FUNCTION
The status of the following settings can be linked to the Intelligent Key and the memorized settings can be available for each Intelligent Key.
● Climate control system
● Navigation system (if so equipped)
● Audio system
To use the memory function, lock the doors with the Intelligent Key that is linked to the settings.
To enable the memorized settings:
1. Carry the Intelligent Key that is linked to the settings, and unlock the doors by pushing the driver’s door handle request button on the switch or UNLOCK Intelligent Key.
2. Push the ignition switch to the “ON” position. “Connection with the key has been done” will be displayed on the screen and the memorized settings are available (only when a new Intelligent Key is used).
My interpretation of this poorly worded manual entry is that you'll see this message when recalling memorized settings from an Intelligent Key. I think it may show up if, for example, you have your settings associated with Key 1, and your partner's settings associated with Key 2, and your partner gets in and drives it after you've been driving it. E.g. unlocking with Key 2 after driving it with Key 1 would generate that message (assuming there are memorized settings associated with both keys).
