Do I take the posative and negative cables of the meter and touch the to the electrical post connections of the injector and take the reading

OR

take the posative cable of the meter and touch it to the pos. side of battery and then the neg side of meter to one post on the injector?

Thanks for your help!

I checked it and there was nothing to read across the injector. It was 0. can it read 0?

Thanks for your reply.

It is the resistance not the voltage that you are measuring.

I don't know about this- but the meter weas put in the lowest ohms setting (20 k I think) and noting registered.

doesn't matter the injector was bad and now it is fixed. I was just hoping to learn how to read it for next time.

thanks

Go to radio shack or supplier and purchase a 10 or 12 ohm 1/4 watt resistor to use as a reference to check VOM calibration.

Low ohms are very sensitive to VOM battery condition.

Most Nissan injectors read 11.9-12.0 +- 0.3 with an accurate VOM.
