Hey everybody so i was talking to the guy down at centerforce clutch and they told me that if there were more versa owners interested in a performance clutch then they would be willing to design a clutch for the versa... if you guys who are interested could give them a call and show them that you are interested then we can get yet another part out there for the versa... 928-771-8422 ext. 32 and this is Roger

Price would be key. Especially since hardly no one should need a replacement clutch yet.

If anyone calls make sure centerforce knows that the MR20 in the Sentra is the same clutch, should help them in their decision.

How can someone say that something is money well spent while not knowing how much they spent? That seems weird to me.

How much would a performance clutch alter the driving experience? That wasn't something that I had even thought about changing since mine seems to work fine.

Well when you start adding power to the car with performance upgrades such as intakes, exhaust, turbo the stock clutch brakes down much quicker and begins to slip which is bad for your car and not very safe

They're actually pretty reputable.

How about a replacement 6 speed? One with significantly more overdrive? Or a mod to the existing transmission replacing 5th gear with some decent overdrive.

Wouldn't it be easier to to replace the differential with one that creates a larger final drive? I'm not sure that those are the right words but the end result would be a differential (or final drive, if that's different) that caused a reduction in the RPM/speed ratio throughout all gears.

I'm pretty sure that one of the big factors our 6 speed feels a little flimsy is because of the nature of the close ratio that Nissan set. 6 speeds for a small engine like ours is a bit overkill and probably should have been kept to 5 for the maximum torque and smoothness of transition between gears.

However, Centerforce might be able to create a stronger, more efficient clutch that could hold up to any kind of beating you give the Versa as well as offer a more enjoyable driving experience...

I can't imagine that an intake and an exhaust are going to add power significant enough to cause clutch issues. The turbo isn't available yet (as far as I know). Perhaps when other performance enhancing mods are available people may have to look at the clutch but it would be waaaaaay down on my list at this point if I had the MT.

I believe it would either be stage 2 or 3 you'd have to ask roger

By the end of the summer there should be an upgrade to the entire air management system (intake to exhaust). Though adding a CAI and a custom exhaust probably wont cause a significant increase in power, changing the headers (both intake and exhaust) along with the previous two might.

If the price is in the 150-200 range i think that I will be looking at getting one soon. I think that I am pretty rough on my clutch.

well if they make the clutch with a lower gearing wouldn`t you have to change the gears in the front end to match it??? the only cars that i know alot about are mustangs crown vic dodge ram 1500 and nissan 240sx... i havnt been able to find out much about the versa on how to repair it... well because i havnt had to... but if this clutch does give you better gas mileage and there is papers showing me that it does due to lower RPM`s in final gear... count me in ...

Clutch and transmissions are two completely different beasts.
