does anyone know if a 2wd centerlink is the same as the 4wd model? :confused:

Yeah... a little lost. Are you talking about the drive shaft?

probably calling it the wrong thing but the bar that is connected to the pitman and idler arm

Just replaced the center steering link on my 85 2WD.

Looks like you have an 84 so I don't know how much this will help but,

My 85 Service manual calls it the cross rod and shows the same part for both 2wd and 4wd.
The 4wd has different "side rods" though.

If you end up buying a replacement make sure it has the grease fittings on the side and not on top.
The replacement I bought has the grease fitting on top and looks like it might interfere with the stabilizer bar. I haven't taken it of the jack yet to confirm though.

i found a 1982 4wd one on rockauto it looks to be simmilar to my busted one so im pretty sure it should work but its weird the 1984 stuff is all 2wd but the 1982 has 4wd and 2wd options so idk if their was a change in the years guess ill find out :chuckle:

They might be swappable. Center link is the correct term. It connects to the pitman and idler arms.
