Hi everyone. Below are the autocross times by car number. Please note, these are mostly Saturday times. Since we did not have corner workers most of the day Sunday, I could not confirm if anyone knocked down cones. So as a result I gave out times verbally but I did not officially record them. If some of you had quicker times on Sunday, I apologize if they are not noted here.

When comparing times, please keep in mind some people ran the course more times than others, and there were no restrictions for the cars, including tires. You all did a great job. Well done. :dblthumb:

Congrats to Bill Miller, overall lowest time, and to FlohtingPoint, lowest NICO time.

Any idea who the drivers were for the times? If not, hopefully folks can step forward and claim times. I worked with a few folks and I was just wondering if the advice I gave out helped them.

I'm going to retire the XB after this year...most of you missed my ripping up the course on Sunday morning in the Scion XB. It was unfortunate that Joel "lost" the stop watch and, though I technically did not post a time, I would have posted a course record for fastest front wheel drive vehicle resembling a toaster. ;)
Had a blast meeting everybody...Next year it will be the Z. :bigthumb:

That'll be awesome to see there Gord. Z's make great autocross cars, and several have gone on to become national champions.

I was #31, and thanks to some VERY good advise from floatingpoint, shaved 4sec off next run! Unfortunately, I didn't get all the seat time I really wanted, as I was also busy helping friends with tires and such to get them out there.

Great 8-6!! My buddy, Orion was DROOLING!! His restoration is almost complete...unfortunately, he was relegated to driving the chase car with the tires, etc. We were the crew in the far corner with the G20 and 3 s-chassis

Glad I could help Brother. Thanks for the comments on the Corolla. I dont think it'll be back next year though, that's too many miles logged on the car. I'll probably bring my 1st gen MR2 for that trip.

brought down my time about 2 seconds from saturday to sunday thanks to Jim's advice. I think my ears are still ringing with "pump them up!" (referring to my rear tire pressure).

I was #14. Had a great time and am looking forward to getting on a track soon. Hopefully it's before Hyperfest at Summit Point, but if not, hopefully I'll see some of you there!

Hyperfest? Brother, you should come out to the SCCA Pro Solo instead. It's going on that whole weekend.

I have a few friends going to Hyperfest and I want to try an HPDE event. Road racing looks like a lot of fun.

ProSolo events look like a lot of fun though! Too bad there's only one event in this area. I guess I'll have to put that on my list of events for next year! Let me know what other events you'll be at in the area and maybe we'll meet up again.

Thing is, there is only one Pro Solo in this area each year, there are plenty of HPDE's you can attend. If you skip the Hyperfest, there are still SCCA PDX's (which is like a time trial) at Summit and NASA HPDE's there too later in the year.

http://www.nasaracing.net/#RoadRacing

August and November there will be HPDE's at Summit, so you wont miss one this year if you do the Pro Solo instead.

Honestly, the Pro Solo is such a huge atmosphere, this is where the heavy hitters are. Pro Solo's are the largest, most talent laden competitions, most prestigious autocross events in the nation aside from the National Championship at seasons end in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I went to hyperfest last year and was less than impressed and rather bored at times (but this is just me). All this is just food for thought.

You're not making this easy, Jim!! I'll have to check my calendar and the racing schedules and see when else I could get an HPDE event in.

It does look like an awesome event and I'm sure there will be more heavy hitters there than Hyperfest. I know I'm not even close to being able to compete, but I'm sure I could learn a lot from others.

I'll have to think really hard about this. I'll also have to get an SCCA membership soon if I want to do it as well. Actually, I should probably sign up for that in the next week or so since I'm still 24 and can get the discounted membership.

bleh, I spoke too soon. Event is maxed out at 230 folks, my bad =(

Well, if hyperfest doesn't work out, you can always come down to Fed Ex and scope out the event, it's quite a show. Supposed to be two 240SX's there too competing in SM I believe.

If you're interested in HPDE in that area, I believe Audi is having an HPDE over the weeked of September 18th, I think they're using Shenandoah, which is an extremely fun course. It includes a replica of the banked carousel turn from Nurburgring.

Audi's also doing a 2 day school at NJ motorsports PArk (Millville NJ) in October. The Lightning course if I'm not mistaken.

If you feel like driving to NH, there's a 2 day school at New hampshire Mostorsports Park (Louden). beginning June 2nd. I'm going to try that track for the first time at this event. There might be a few beginner slots open.

I have some SCCA PDX dates on my calander, which I believe is as close to track driving as I'll get this year. I was planning on starting HPDE this year but between the kart and the chase for two regional SCCA titles and a regional BMWCCA Autox title, I have my hands full =/

Well, I guess that solves my dilemma then. I'll definitely put it on the list of events for next year though!! And since I'll be at Hyperfest, I won't get a chance to check out the action. But hopefully I people will take pictures.

Good luck with all those title chases Jim - definitely sounds like you have your hands full.

Joel, I assume you're talking about Shenandoah Speedway in VA?

Nope. Summit Point Raceway, where "Hyperfest" is. They actually have 3 different tracks there. Summit Main (which I assume they're using for hyperfest), Jefferson Circuit (which has been featured many times on Motorweek), and the Shenandoah Circuit (my favorite of the 3). They also have a big gokart track.

Here's their website:

VIR and BeaveRun have really nice kart tracks too. I've been on VIR's a couple times (in their karts of course). I have yet to try Summit Point's.
