dangeris wrote:Okay Brian,..looking at the website, there are a lot of events going on that weekend. I take it we're going to Nicofest right?

And is anyone out there going to be showing their cars in the show field? I'm only going down there for the day and probably heading down there on Friday night with my wife so 2 days is out for me...

Also,...if you wanted to do the autocross and/or dyno, do you register online or do you have to do it there?

And Lastly, where's everyone staying who's coming down the night before? At that holiday inn with the milf oil wrestling?...

Ok my wife saw your post Brian and she wants to ride with someone who can drift! Who does she have to schmooze up to?

Ok lets take it from the top... Ill be going down fri night and coming home sat night...

Nicofest is running the whole time, we basically OWN the drift/autocross track and the area around it, and thats where we are at...

Showfield is all over, basically the judges walk around and just find all the cars.

Just post here to make sure NICO has you down...zer...le-09

And register with Carlisle (i think its $50 or something for the weekend)...

You dont need to sign up for anything other than with Carlisle to get in, and with NICO so you can get on the track.

Once at the event, you can roll up to the Dyno thing and do a run if you like, idk how much it costs...

The Holiday in in mechanicsburg is THE PLACE to be, its 10 min away, clean and OHH WHAT A GOOD TIME!

As far as getting a ride-along in a drift car, when you get to the show, just hang out at the track and start asking people! We all know that we are friendly people!

This seems awesome! I really want to be a part of this Caravan! It would kind of be a wicked long drive though. Boston to NY, than to Carlisle? Anyone have any idea how long that would be?

We should see if we could get a group rate at a local Inn or Hotel

$20 for sat $15 for sun, or $25 for a 2 day pass to just walk around etc.....

With each registered car (you need to register your car to drive it onto the grounds) that you get 2-2 day passes.

Maybe I'm a moron Brian and I apologize if I'm being retarded but the link brought me to the Carlisle page where you can register for any of the events happening on May 9 - 10th. For the Nicofest, it says the following:

Quote »2009 Carlisle Performance & Style NICOfest - Nissan Infiniti Car Owners GatheringPrice: $50.00 This registration is for the judged showfield and includes two weekend passes. Registering for NICOfest will make sure you are counted in the parking area for the NICO group. After registering, a receipt will be emailed to you - please bring this receipt to the event.
So I guess what I'm getting out of this and your post is if you park your car outside the fairgrounds, it's gonna cost $20 for Sat., $15 for Sun., or $25 for both days Just to get in.

BUT....If you want to roll up to where the Nico boys will be hanging out at, we'll need to purchase the $50 registration fee BUT that will include Two 2-day passes and the "parking space" at the Nico site.. And of course you'll be able to do whatever else like the autocross etc as long as we're registered with Nico...

Let me know if I got it this time or feel free to me the next time you see me.

Dangeris I was wondering the same thing...

Do most NICO folks pay the $50 for the show field parking so that include 2-2 day tix too?

I concur with someone calling the holiday inn for a group rate ASAP.

Can someone post a link or address for the place you guys usually stay at? I don't want to be left out of the Friday nite partay.

I hear ya Andy...I don't want to miss out on any of the partay on Firday night

As far as blocking rooms, I think they need a definite count of # of people before any blocking of rooms can occur. I don't think it would be too hard to find though..I mean how many Holiday Inns can there be in Mechanicburg that has Oil milf wrestling

Theres an INSANE bar at the Holiday in in Mechanicsburg... Its a coyote ugly theme w optional spankings from the bartenders... and another bar with oil wrestling last time I was there...

In addition they have a big outdoor area.

I am trying to see if we can get a group rate to make it cheaper, but its current "early bird" rental price is $105ish right now... Maybe we can get it lower, i will keep you posted..

DONT BOOK THE ROOM YET! WAIT FOR MY SIGNAL!

Now who knows if they will have "MILF Oil Wrestling" that night like they had last year (I think the wrestling was on the saturday night, the night before mothers day), but what I do remember is that they allowed people to wrestle the girls, this should be an entertaining event to say the least...

Did you see the video of my friend getting whipped? Ive brought him to meets before, he couldnt sit right for a few hours.

Ok i found out the registration/ticket info..

Its that $10/15 or $25 to WALK in... park your car in a lot and walk in PER PERSON

$50 for Nicofest gets you*driving into carlisle with a window sticker and parking with all the crew*Admission for TWO PEOPLE for the 2 DAYS*Dyno access (fee to dyno)*Showfield Judging*Autocross*Drift*"Behind the Ropes Access"[b/]- To get behind the "gates" surrounding the Autocross and Drift area... Either your on the track area with us, or you have to watch from the top of a hill.

In addition, I talked to someone who hooked me up last yr at Carlisle... at that Holiday Inn Mechanicsburg the band he plays in are regular performers there (i saw them last yr) and he may be able to hook up the group rate. He will be in there this week, hold off booking rooms

Check out these pics from the hotel barhttp://www.clubplanet.com/Galleries/254408

I have never been to the Hardware Bar on Westshore, but have been to the one in Harrisburg (closer for me)

Harrisburg Hardware Bar is three floorsFirst floor more of a rock area-live band, girls dancing on bar, good looking girls all around

Second floor-Chill floor. They have beds and couches all over the place. Play R&B, Rap hits. Kind of weird, but nice to be able to just chat with a girl and get a beer.. Plus there are beds

Third flow-LOUD *** MUSICGirls dancing in cages, people hooking up, you get the idea.

There is a 5 cover, and beer prices are reasonable. They run a lot of specials like 50cent rum and cokes, or 25 cent beers.

Two questions--

If I run autox at Carlisle and destroy my car, does insurance cover it?

and

Do any folks here have a SA2000 or M2000 (or newer) rated helmet that I could borrow for the autox?

I'm bringing my motorcycle helmet and my wife's so she can go autocross with me. And maybe a passenger for someone who's drifting..

***EDIT***: Nevermind..Read the "Official Carlisle thread" and it said this:Quote » -There will be no rental helmets available so participants must supply theirown SA2000 or M2000 (or newer) rated helmets (no cracks). SAE/DOT rated helmets are not acceptable for this event. Bicycle helmets are also not acceptable. It is okay to share helmets, but each participant must advise during tech/registration if he or she is sharing helmets.
