I have been searching for a complete carbon fiber dash kit for my 1999 QX4, but i can't seem to find one. I have seen ones that fit my car but they don't come with the middle piece that goes around the radio. Can anybody help me?! Finding stuff for this car is getting me frustrated, everything i want for this car won't fit or isn't made!:angryfire Thanks for your help.

JasonB a NICO member has a lot of kits FS, some for QX4 I think, but I can't promise any carbon fiber ones.

Either way check it out:http://www.burtmanindustries.com/

Thanks for the link, but they seem to only have wood which i already have. I don't care if i get brushed aluminum or something else that's not carbon fiber, i just want something! I don't have a lot of interior mods except my stereo. Thanks for the help though. :)

I found a dash kit that will go over the existing piece surrounding my radio and air controls but it doesn't cover the whole thing, there will be wood sticking out on the side! Nobody sells the whole piece to replace that, but not in a wood color?

These people are so stupid! They say dask kit for a 1999 QX4 and they show a Pathfinder! I just thought i'd share it with you because i noticed the white faced gauges (another one of my threads:D). It just drives me crazy because all these people think that the Pathfinder stuff fits the QX4, but it doesn't! Also what drives me crazy is when they spell Infiniti like this Infinity, like the speakers or something, but they mean the car! Just figured i'd let u guys know that. :D

is that what your dash looks like? that looks like an early 99 pathybtw except for the front and rear facia's the 2 vehicles are the same car. the QX4 has some additional bells and whistles but they are the same suv

I assume it is a 1999 or so Pathfinder, but the description said that it was a a "1999.5 QX4 wood trim kit", and they showed a Pathfinder. My dash is slighty different, but i said that about them not being the same because everything that i want that fits the Pathfinder doesn't fit my car, and the people in the stores sell me stuff that they think fits the QX4 because it fits the Pathfinder, but i get it to my car and it will not work! (example: clear corners, white face gauges, carbon fiber-the wood will still show in some spots...) There are so many times that i went to the store looking forward to getting and installing something, but i end up leaving mad!

do they ask you for your production date when they are looking up the parts? that may be the biggest problem because there were some signifacant body and trim changes mid year. they should be asking for that information when you inquire about parts.

for your fiber kit they should be asking if you have auto select 4 wheel drive or lever shift 4WD.

no, see that's what i'm talking about, it never says anything about the auto select 4 wheel drive or lever shift 4WD on the websites. I have the auto one.

it may be the QX4 all have the auto select. and only the pathy has an option. what about pro date?

no, they don't ask about that. but i've seen QX4's with the lever shift 4WD , my dad had a '98 in at his shop for work with it.

i just looked at your picture of your radio on another site. it looks like your wood grain curls around the side of the trim? that would mean your vehicle was built at the factory with wood grain. if this is the case what you need to do is get that peice that is not wood grain but the same color as the rest of your trim. swap it out then you could install a CF kit and all would look ok. there is not kit available that will cover the factory wood grain option during production.

Well i would assume that it came like that from the factory, i am the second owner. But it does curve around but the thing is i haven't seen that whole piece of plastic to buy, it's just like a sticker that goes over it, but the sitcker doesn't cover the curve part. Most of the kits i've seen aren't carbon fiber anyway, they are a factory match of the wood. and they don't even include that console piece! And like you said, is get that peice that is not wood grain, but i don't know where to find one from. Plus the rest of the pieces in my car are the same wood color, like on the doors and stuff. I am getting so frustrated i am about to find a QX4 from my dad's shop (i'll probably have to wait a while though), take the piece i need and paint it silver to match my car! But i don't know if it can be done so i don't want to mess up mine! We did that on my fiancé's car but his was a mustang gt with plain plastic, not wood like mine, but it looked really good.

go to a wreaker where you go in and pull your own parts. see if you can find either a pathy or QX4 same as yours and try to locate that piece. since that piece is nearly an identical match to a pathy i would think they are interchangable. what is the exact pro date on your vehicle? also have you been able to find a CF kit for yours that covers all your wood grain except the piece we have been talking about? all the kits will be stick on stuff btw. that is the way you will have to go if you want this kit.

Well i think that the QX4's only came with wood, don't quote me, but i haven't heard of one without it. I know the Pathfinders had black, but i am not sure if it will fit exactly, because i've seen some and they are almost exactly the same except for like the AC controll cut out, or something stupid like that. I don't know the exact date either off hand, i'm sure my dad knows, if not i can probably find out. I also realized that all the carbon fiber will be stickers, that is not a problem if i have a piece for the console that isn't wood. But the thing all i've seen are places with factory wood matches that don't have that center piece that i need anyway. Unless i can find one that 's supposed to be for a Pathy that'll fit mine. I feel so cluleless on where to look because i've tried so many places, but they don't have the big major piece that i need, they have like 17 piece sets with out that center console thing that goes around the radio!

i go back to work on monday. i know we sell carbon fiber kits through our parts department. get me your pro date it is on your label somewhere in the drivers door opening just the month and year is all it will have and thats all i need. i will see if we have a pathy in service around the same pro date and take some measurements of openings. we do service quite a few QX4's as well so maybe i will get lucky and can do an exact comparison and maybe if time allows a swap to check fit. the later may not be possible if at least one of the 2 is not a stock unit from our lot. just get me the pro date and some measurements of the openings if you can. and monday i will attempt the research for ya.

Geezz, after 5 minutes of searching, the date is 3/99. I kept looking in the wrong spot, i even looked at every door! Then i looked under the hood, i looked at every possible sticker then I checked the door again and looked in a different spot and finally found it! Also, at one of the Infiniti dealership the person told me i have a 1999.5 because of the auto select 4 wheel drive thing, but now i heard that it depends on engine size...can you clarify this for me if you know:D And thank you for helping me out, i really appreciate it!

no you should have a 3.3l belt driven engine. i had made a statment on these boards but had to go back a retract it. in mid year or early yr 2001. the pathy and QX4 got a 3.5l no engine change took place in1999 . but the statement of auto select transmission could be true since thats about when it came out. yes you have a 99 ½ QX4

Yea, thats true. But i posted a couple of things in other sections, but didn't get a great response. For example, something that is bothering me is that I asked someone a question in this fog light post a couple of days ago, i asked if the procedure they had listed removes the yellow from the light, and still i got no response.:(

Ahh ha!:thinker I just went under the stereo section, and somebody asked about carbon fiber sheets! Do you think these will be difficult to use? The link i clicked on said you can use them anywhere, and it showed a picture of a dash that had curves to it! What do u think?

i dont know if it will work or not. if it is like contact paper i suppose if your carfull you could make it look really sharp. buy a small amount and get a broken piece with a curve off of one of the cars in your dads body shop. since it will be thrown away anyhow. and try it out to see if it comes out acceptable

ok my guys are checking on the availability of a carbon fiber kit for a 1999.5 path . but what i found out was the auto select trans was not an option on path till 2001 but from the parts fiche it looks like its the same bezel you have and it is not wood grain. there are 3 colors available so i need the trim code off of the same label you got the production date off of. I am going to have to have my guys recheck the kit for a 2001 or 2002 pathfinder. when they get an answer back from the nissan parts rep i will let you know what you can do. I suspect you will have to buy a bezel for a 2002 pathfinder and a carbon fiber kit for the pathfinder. i will let you know when i get the info back on the carbon fiber kit.
