hey im a new member to this site...but been coming here for a few months now..and i have a problem i need help with.

i just finished swaping this 1993 ka24de motor(it had a turbo before i bought it) into a 1992 shell i bought. the motor was running fine in the car i pulled it out of. but now that i swaped it in this new shell...when ever it warms up then stalls it wont start right back up. it takes a long time before it will fire up. some times i just leave it alone for a day (after i try for a while) and the next day it will fire up on the first shot. after it stalls, when i crank it it seem like it dosent have enough juice to turn over..and the spark dosent look very strong. the shop checked the battery and said it is good. i changed the spark plugs and wires and cleaned the dist. cap. any ideas out there of what could be wrong?

also the car used to be auto. but was converted buy owner that sold me the shell. and he left all the wire harness in the front of the car the auto. one.

and when i got the motor and transmission the seller did not give me the fuel rail, injectors, clips for the injectors, and the ignitor. so those i had to find some place else... i got the fuel rail and injectors off a 240 in the junk yard...got the injector clips off a altima in the junk yard. and the ignitor off a friend.

please any help would be great

thanks

is there something that can cause this to happen when the car warms up...like part getting to hot and causing the car not to turn over once shut off?

A friend of mine bought a 240 shell that had a walboro 255lph pump in it. Had the guy not told him that, and he put a stock motor in, with factory fuel pressure regulator, he would have had an issue that sounds very similar to yours. Suppose the regulator can't hold all that pressure and the cylinders get washed down with gas. Does your engine spin over unusually fast when it won't start?

not really, but i think i may have found the problem....the o2 sensor wire seams to be burnt. so im thinking the car is running to rich and the ecu may be burnt so it cant show me the problem...and that is causing the sparkplugs to be soaked in gas..thus no starting until they dry out some... does this sound logical to anyone?

Plugs soaked in raw gas would indicate a misfire. Running rich from a bad 02 sensor is very possible. Maybe a plug fouled out from the rich mix and got soaked in gas when the others were running. Fix the 02 for sure and then try some new plugs. NGKs of course.

ok, how long are we talking about this thing runing untill it stops? check your alternator, the temp might have nothing to do with it stoping.
