Car will go dead randomly please help

earlyer this week my car went dead, i found that my battery had a bad cell so i replacedd it. but even with the new battery the car will sometimes still not turn on,(no headlights not even a click from the starter, stone dead) the only way the car will work is if i jump it and then it will be fine for a couple days. .....any thoughts...
