I got a wierd problem with my 85 300zx. It starts up just fine and runs like normal then it starts to sputter and dies after running for 30 seconds. it then starts up just fine again and then does the same thing. it seems to die at the exact same time everytime. the little red gas light comes on everytime. i tried replacing the fuel pump and filter but no luck. my friends uncle kept it runnong by spraing carbuerator cleaner in the throttle everytime it came close to dyin so i assume something is shutting the fuel pump off or something after 30 secs. any help will be appreciated

DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER! it cna damage the MAS, and MAS failure can turn the fuel pump off, but have you verified that the fuel pressure drops when it dies? it's very simple to add and inline gauge

Dave they dont have an antitheft that would interfere with the ignition or fuel pump of the car do they? I had the same problem with my c4 corvette and I wound up runing a hot wire with a swich to the fuel pump. I went on a ton of corvette forums and they couldnt help me but that did the trick. (I know its a "getto" rig that I would of done in my days of hangin with zxrkid but hey It worked)

if ti were a security issue the car would not start, it wouldn't even crank

Yeh possibly check the pressure of the fuel line before and after the filter. My friend's van is doing the same thing. It will eliminate possibilities.

Yea, I doubt that you would be impressed with it if you had to "riged it" to sell it. Hopefully the new owner was able to sort out the car's issues before any damage occured to the engine.
