Car Stereo Channel Out

Good Day. The right channel of my stereo is not functioning. I was able to trace the problem, and it seems there's an issue with the circuitry in the involving the volume control in the steering wheel. The volume control on the steering wheel itself works fine; the volume can be changed from the wheel, but the right channel still does not work. The left channel works fine. Any ideas on what can be causing the problem? Thank you. Mark

You will have better luck finding someone with knowledge of your '86 on the classic Z site, as here on the Z32 site most guys have no knowledge of the Z31 platform.
