car starts sometimes but not others

I have a 2000 maxima SE that will start and run good sometimes but it will just turn over and not start other times. I have changed out two bad coil packs but it still does this. Has anyone had this problem berfore

I have a 1997 Infiniti I30 that sometime starts and other times just "clicks" several times before the engine finally starts. The battery is new, I installed a new ignition switch, and a new starter. Still, randomly "clicks" up to 20 times before it will start. Once started the car runs great. No one can figure out were my problems is coming from. My car is being troubleshooted by the mechanic today. I will let you know what comes about.

faulty starter solenoid. most parts stores can test your starters for free to be sure if it's the starter or just solenoid.
