You young'ens know the child car seat law a lot better than I do. If I turn off my front air bag, can an infant in a car seat ride in my front seat?

I would say no.

Rear facing in the back seat is safer.

Not sure but it might be illegal in some states.

Most police departments will check vehicles for proper infant seat installation so you may want to give them a call,

Thx H.

This is interesting:

"The safest location for car seat installation is the center-most position of the vehicle. This allows the child to be furthest from the incoming metal and glass if you were to get in a crash."

My front seat is definately the center most position of my car.

I got this off of tn.gov/safety:

•Children under one (1) year of age, or any child, weighing twenty (20) pounds or less, must be secured in a child passenger restraint system in a rear facing position, meeting federal motor vehicle safety standards, in a rear seat, if available, or according to the child safety restraint system or vehicle manufacturer's instructions.

I'm assuming that since in my car a rear seat "isn't available" it is ok for it to be in the front. I mean really, how many parents drive pickup trucks?

Since you have a 2-seater, yes.
