Hey All,

Just bought my Rogue yesterday & sure wish I'd come across this forum sooner. Sooo much great info! Gotta stop reading anything bad, though, as my buyer's remorse will kick into high gear!

Well, I bet I'm all alone on this one, but I hate the wheel-mounted paddles - anyone know if they can be removed? I'll never use them, they're kinda in the way, but mostly I just don't like how they look.

If I'm stuck with them, can anyone tell me what I'm missing by NOT using them?

Thanks! zb

I thought I would make much more use of them considering I'm coming from driving a standard car, but the CVT does a great job. The only time I feel compelled to use it is during quick passes on highways and rural roads. If you hit the gas on the Rogue, it takes about a second and a half for the CVT to respond and rev up the engine properly. If you use the paddles, you can gear down in anticipation of needing the extra torque.

i would agree, instant power, or power on demand is where the paddle shifters will come into play.

personally, i would have loved it if we got the SL model but budget won't let me, so i got the S AWD. still so much fun to drive, and i use the O/D button to make instant power.

sometimes you might get the need to play around with your Rogue and those paddle shifters, then you realize it's a good thing to have it after all.

like mah mama used to say "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it"

Yeah I think you will be alone. Even if you seldom use them as is the case with me it is a very quick way to make a quick aceleration, You just got your Rogue why don't you give it a few weeks. I don't even notice mine that is until I need to add a little more zip.

I've read some complaints about the engine "droning". The paddle shift mode takes care of this. You can shift for yourself if you choose. Kinda fun to play with. The feature doesn't seem intrusive to me. Removing the paddles would have to be done by the dealer and the cost would definitely not be covered by the warranty. Use them for a month and see if you don't agree that they can come in handy.

Yep, I'm sure you're right - I should give 'em a try, at least, before trying to pry them off the wheel with a flathead screwdriver They just might grow on me.

Besides, I absolutely LOVE everything else about the Rogue, so nothing worth worrying about ...

Many thanks for the replies!
