Sorry for this slightly rude method of getting your attention, but you haven't been on your CarDomain profile in a while and thought this might work out better and I really wanted to ask you a question. On your (beautiful) V, i saw you painted the plastic part on under the front and rear bumper and was wondering if they are removable or did you just spray paint them while they were still on your car? And do you have any tips on painting? Thank you in advance.

I know Kimber has been a bit busy lately, so perhaps I could help a little.

The plastic pieces, IIRC, can be removed. I know for sure the side skirts can.

Here is a link to the Factory Service Manual, which will give you information on how to do so.

I can't help with the painting part, but I'm sure someone else here could.

Firstly, flattery will get you everywhere! (as will any thread with my name in it XoD)

The sideskirts are removable... as for the trim on the bumpers, I just taped it off and sprayed it (there's pics on my CarDomain, which I haven't checked in awhile, I believe on page 3... yup, page 3) The fog light inserts also come out, but the lower grill I had to tape up really carefully and put paper between the bumper and the inards of the engine bay before painting.

Clean carefully, no need to sand, but do use Krylon fusions paint for plastic as a primer and I always recommend wheel clear, several coats, to seal it.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

Yeah the side skirts are removable, just a bit iffy to get off, but I did it and now they look like side skirts instead of stupid plastic.
