Hello Nico,

I have a 2002 infiniti i35 and my CAT converter has gone haywire. I need to replace it but so far the dealer wants 800(jsut for parts) and everything online does not ship to california.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap cat converter that is legal in california? My mechanic said that it's the "right" converter. I'm guessing he mean the front one?
tnxs for the help!

You can try here

All they list though are universal converters, not direct fit. So unless you have some tools and a little know how, you're going to need a shop to put it on.

Before you buy anything, make sure you have a way to get it installed. And make sure your EFN # matches the cat that you are buying.
Good luck!

The only way to tell is to get under there and take a look. If the cat sits in a nice-to-get-to location in a straight section....then probably not too bad.

If it's one of the pre-cats that is bad, you will definitely want to get a direct fit. Did you have a check engine light that prompted this?
