So you checked for an injector pulse? Not just fuel at the rail. If not, get a noid light and test the injector pulse from the computer. And you say you have spark while cranking. The only other things are compression, air intake, and timing. Keep us posted and good luck

Hi,

the spark plugs are getting wet and theres a strong smell of fuel, so the injectors are firing fuel..

i am getting a spark and also getting fuel i have had it running before all this so its not compression or timing..

i have arranged for a computer to do the diagnostics..as its cranking and wants to fire but it dont....

Well i did the computer thing and i got up that the bottom crank sensor was faulty..

checked it there was a broken wire there that had been repaired in the past and has gone again, i have now repaired the wire to the sensor with a temp fix, but i have lost spark on the plugs!!

now i am getting confused, anyone have any ideas on why its done that?

If you had spark, then it would seem to me that the cam and crank sensors were working. I'm not familiar with CA's but I'm confident with NISSANs in general. Play with that sensor some more and see if you cant get a spark. Maybe the thing just flooded out for some reason. If you have fuel and spark with correct ignition timing (and air/compression) then the thing has to run. If the rings are washed down with gas and the motor spins over faster than normal then your not building compression. Maybe a few squirts of motor oil in the cylinders and blow drying the plugs off will get her fired up. Hehehe! Ooo! Make sure you got spark fist. But, you had spark so you should be able to achieve it once again. Good luck

Hi, just a update. i ended up repairing the sensor ( which ended up being a knock sensor ) also removed the imobliser... while doing that found that who ever fitted it left a load of live wires in the driverside footwell which was all open ended. "could" have caused a fire at any point..

also found the reason i was having problems getting it to run was that the crank pos sensor had broken inside..

looks like this is going to become a project car, as i dread to even think what could have also been done to the car at anypoint in its life, after finding that wiring...

anyway heres some pictures enjoy..
