Finally getting this CA18DET installed in my car, and long story short, the AC unit I had sitting around failed, and the HICAS pump from the KA24DE isn't going to fit, no matter how hard we try.

I'm currently trying to source out these parts and have a thread in the marketplace of this forum, but since I need to get this engine done fast, I'm looking for other solutions.

Has anyone ever retrofitted the AC pump or HICAS PS pump from another engine onto the CA18DET? I've heard that the AC pump from the KA24E will fit, just not the one from the DE, but I'm having trouble sourcing one of those out to try, also.

I just hope someone has an idea, I've been waiting too long for this install to get done, and I just yearn for the day when I can hop in, hit the clutch, crank it over, and wind it up. Looks like it'll be quite some time at this point, though.

I can confirm that the SOHC AC pump fits (my car is an 89) and this sounds like a good opportunity to ditch your HICAS...

I don't drift, and actually like how the HICAS works. How well does the SOHC fit? I've heard that it'll fit, but the pulley will be mildly misaligned.

At this rate though, I may just have to eliminate the HICAS and go with the standard PS pump.
