hey im new to ca's and ive got a ca18et and was wondering if i could put the det head on it??? help me out....

I think it'd be easier to just get a CA18DET long block. Is this going in an S12?

yeah, you can put a DE head on an ET block, but you'll have to change the pistons for sure, and the rods are weaker. It also doesn't have a crank girdle. Better off buying a CA18DET to begin with and swapping it in. Use your old CA18ET transmission though, and it'll be a bolt on affair in an s12.
