I have a real general question. Whenever I start the car, it appears that it is difficult for the car to turn over, but once running, it's fine. I have asked people their thoughts, and have heard everything from the battery to ECU to ignition.

To give you an idea of what it is doing, the car acts like it does not have enough power to turn it over, and I have to press on the gas pedal to help it start.

So far, I have purchased a Blitz Access ECU for it, changed the plugs, oil, you name it, it's been done.

Any ideas, because I am out of them????

Has it always done this, or is this a recent thing. Check your idle screw on your throttle body.

From your description, I agree. They DO get weak as they age and don't turn the car over as quickly. I've seen starters get to where they will turn the motor, but not quickly enough to actualy start it. They will kind of surge too. Like when a piston gets to the top of the compression stroke, it doesn't have enough balls to keep it going.

take it apart, clean it up, possibly use fine grit sandpaper to sand down the brushes, and relube the parts that need lubing, put it together, should be brute force.

I wish I had had a camera on hand to take pics of a walkthrough when I did mine..

also, check battery terminals, if there's corrosion it limits the amount of power the starter can pull from the battery..

I think that is what I am going to do next. If that doesn't work, who knows.
