My ca18det swap is not going well. It starts, it idles (very rough), it drives (very slow), and is skipping pretty bad. I have it running on 4 cylinders, and compression and leak down are good. I am running very rich and cant figure out why. I have a dsm injector resistor and I am getting 12 volts at the injectors... still sholdent this be lower? And I think mabye I have a bad fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator or something, any ideas? Guys I feel like im driveing a ****y old honda! It has maybe 45hp, no joke, I get passed by old people. I have it sitting now and im getting aggrivated...any advice? What should my injector voltage be? That just seems high, and if so where do I get a new resistor? cus this one is definatly wired up right. And the resistor box is not getting hot at all, shoudent this thing get good and hot??

Pull of the intake hose and check that your turbo is not locked.

turbos good good boost and i haven't been able to check fuel pressure since my gauge isant high enough threw my research if the voltage to high to the injectors they stick open witch would recreate my problem of to much fuel and i no joke have the stock fuel pump so its not too much pressure from there also what should the vacume pressure be at the regulator

first thing I would check is if the resistor is still within spec(check the FSM)

next I would start with ignition. sounds like you might not be running on all cyclindars(plugs, coil packs, timing, grounds, harness, ignitor).

need to start doing some hunting and rule things out. take advatange of the stickies with the FSMs...... what ever you do, dont just start guessing as most will attempt. it always costs more in the end and often results in OTHER issues.....

also, check the ECU for codes and if your 02 sensors are in spec.

btw is this a stock motor and ECU? or is there any mods to it? maybe you have one of those "tuned" ecus that tend to funk everyone up.

its a stock motor and ecu i dident want to screw with stuff until i had it runnning if any one has a running ca18det please do me a faveor and go to your car the ignition to on not running pul an ijector wire and use a multimeter and get a amp reading and voltage reading i beleve theses injectors run off of 3 volts so i have herd but i cant find the page it read it from the whole point of a resistor is to drop voltage and its not doing that thats why i want to get this out of the way first as soon as this terd running im gunna tune it and stud the head replace the gead gasket and go with a potato turbo

Spec for the stock injectors are 2.5 Ohms. Give or take .5 ohms and you should be ok. Check to make sure you are running on all cylinders and that your fuel injectors are flowing. I had two injectors clogged and it couldn't even take my car up the driveway. Ohm out the coolant temp sensor and see if you need a new one or not. Those are the basics. The FSM is very detailed and use it to your advantage. I used to skip through it because I was too lazy to read it, big mistake. It's there to help so just take your time and read it through.

^^^This is the best advice I've heard from a member in a LONG time!!!^^^

I can promise you that if you get to know the FSM, the problem you're having can be solved. Believe it or not, this is a relatively simple system and only so much can be wrong with it.

My first suggestion is to ALWAYS CHECK THE BASICS FIRST!!!! Check the plugs and injectors. Make sure you're firing on all cylinders (it doesn't sound like you are), check the codes on the ECU, unplug the MAFS and see if the car runs better.
