I am putting a CA in my 90 hatch and am buying all the stuff I need for the swap. I have a OE Exedy VG30E clutch in my 93 Sil w Redtop with no probs. What clutches interchange, and which in stock form is the strongest.? From searches a CA18ET and the KA24E bolt up and maybee a KA24DE with modification?

I plan to run 10psi FMIC and turbo back exhaust.

I've read that KA24DE clutches are interchangeable if you remove the proper dowel pin from the CA18 flywheel.

But I don't see the sense in that when there are plenty of US manufactured CA18 clutches.

Or if you're looking for a stock CA clutch that ain't worn out, let me know, I have two. Well, lemme state it properly. They still have material. They never made it into either of my cars since I changed clutches before installation.

For what it's worth, I have a SPEC Stage2+, and it feels pretty much stock, but it hasn't caused me any grief yet.

I think Competition Clutch is about to release their CA18 flywheel. They may have started producing the clutch by now.

We use their twin disc on our Pro Hot Rod Civic, and it's withstood 800+ whp.

EDIT: I don't see it listed on the site, and I know they haven't released the flywheels for road testing yet, so they are probably on hold until everything is 100% ready to go.

Does anyone know what is the strongest in stock form? CA18ET or KA?

If we ever meet, I will shake your hand for this post, haha.

Pay the $300 for a good clutch NOW, instead of destroying stock clutches and buying more and more of those, not to mention the downtime.

SPEC Stage III+ Light pedal pressure and countless flat-foot shifts. Still holding like a champ. When this one goes, another SPEC will replace it.
