The is no difference at all between a DE and a DET crank. Now a CA18E crank likely has a different snout like the CA20E

the SOHC crank, at least the CA20 one has a different size snout for the timing belt cog, smaller. I haven't looked in a while but I want to say the crank pulley has a smaller hole too.

good to hear. i thought the snouts may have been different since the pullys don't line up for the water pump. if they are the same then great. thanks guys. that made my life easier.

i had my stuff stored at a friends house, he had some guys come take some scrap to the scrap yard for some extra cash. well my crank was concidered scrap, i was hoping the ca18de pulsar crank would work and it sounds like it will

Is this a planned rebuild or one of the oh snap, my stuff is busted and I just want to get it running again deals? The reason I am asking is because I have been watching and waiting to purchase a bottom end rebuild kit and this may be of use to you also. I am not sure of your goals and/or budget, but I am sure that the info could be useful in the long run. Check out this site when you get a chance. http://www.importperformancepa....html

I am going to get that kit. or find all the parts and see what is cheaper. i already have pauter rods to use. but my stuff was in the middle of a rebuild and he was going to drop the crank off at the machinist but never got around to it. and now it has been turned to scrap metal.

but just so you know that kit does not include the crank

i thought it was possible to use a CA20 crank on a DET... if so how, especially if there are changes

It is. You must put a collar on the crank though for the DOHC timing belt drive gear and get pistons with a higher pin height to take up the increased stroke when using CA18 rods. Your pistons would pop clean out of the block otherwise.
