I would like to know from you guy if, it's a good idea.

Ca16de cam has 8.5mm of lift and 248 degree durationca18det cam has 7.8mm of lift and 240 degreee duration.

Since I am nearly finish my projets. I would like to know if the swap worth it, since I can get the cam for pretty cheap. Since the lift is a bit higher do I need to change de stock spring and retainer.

The car has these mod.3 inch full heasxt T3-T4 turbo35mm tial external wastegate.Cometic metal head gasket 1.2mm External blow off valve hks450cc injector and Z32 maf.Custom Cam ajustable pulley.Fuel pressure Regulator set to 40 psi.

The car will be all tune-up with a wide band O2 and datalogging. but before that I would swap the cam or not since it's quite expensive the tune the car. Do it once do it good. Or I can wait to get some hks over ebay but will need to change de spring and retainer for sure so could be quite expensive.

thanks a lot

I have no input on the cam, but please share where you managed to find a cometic head gasket.

by the part #'s, the only CA16DE intake cam thats different from a CA18DE(T) intake cam is from the european model meant for areas without pollution controls. All other CA16DE/CA18DE/CA18DET cams are the same

I see, I will try to put my hand on to see the spec if I have the chance I'll check the lift and duration from the cam , somebody just offert my a complet head ca18de jdm, first generation it seem it's about 8.5mm lift and 252 duration, could be very good I think. I'll get back on you, the time I get those.

You can run an exhaust cam on the intake side. Quite a few people here in nz do it as a cheap power increase
