I am on the fence about buying this truck, the guy has done a lot of work to it but it wont pass smog. He has changed the carb, but it still seems to run rich and it idles high. I cant afford to get caught with a truck that wont smog. Any suggestions as to a fix, or is there a someone in the San Jose california area who could help me out, or suggest a mechanic in the area. I really love the truck and want to purchase it.

Has the carb been tuned or adjusted? That'd be my first guess. Maybe check your local phone book for older shops to help find a good mechanic or shop.
