okay so i got my ca started finally but it idles really high like 1100 starts to really smoke alot and on one occasion i saw smoke come from the engine but couldnt relaly pinpoint from where...it coulda been a breeze that pushed the exhaust in there...and after a while it starts shaking alot and stalls

what could be wrong

oh and i dont have any intercooler piping connected or have an air filter but everything else is connected

Color of smoke? Why whould you run the engine w/o most of it hooked up or installed?

the smoke is ok at first. my smoked like crazy, just keep an eye on it, weldeing hanks smoked alot too. its normal.

for the idle you can adjust the idle through the little screw on top of the intake mani sorta, its a 10mm, or your throttle body might be opend a little (if it is, when you rev it, itll take along time to come back to idle speed so youd know) then also the timming will affect the idle.

and yea, that is so janky to start it with out all that stuff hooked up man. seriorsuly lol. thats almost as bad as like, hmm my car isnt starting after the first swap, maybe if i drive it down this hill and jump start it that will help... lol cmon man. hook that stuff up beofre you start it again.

Ummmmm, the engine decides the AFR based on the MAF, if there is any extra air getting in the engine between the AFR and the engine itself, it will not run right, if at all. I would say missing pipes qualify as a place for extra un metered air
