Go CA, it can take a better beating than an SR can!

Dont buy a CA. This motor is not meant to be a second choise to the SR, it it meant to be a first choise because you know something that most others do not.

Other than that, please use the search function becuase this topic is discussed ad infinifum.SEARCH LINK

you dont got to be an *** about it, i'm trying to ask for help not degrade you pride and sneek in to you special club of ca owners with out being invited. i was gonna search but i couldnt figure out how to word my topic. i just wanna know if i can get a ca, put the thousand + i save in to it, and have something equal to a 300+ hp sr in terms of reliability and ease of parts location

You implyied that I was trying to be an as$ when I wasnt. The two motors are usually compared when they should not be. Its like apples and oranges.

I simply asked you to use the search function as there are plenty of threads that have been started about his before.

I dont mean to point it out in the wrong manner, but you might figure out that this forum gets asked this question about once a month, right?

If you want an engine with easy to find performance parts, the CA isn't for you.

SD, how much time did you spend on that? You know that you just wasted that time and you'll never get it back. You DO know that, right? LOL, JK!

In answer to the original question:The CA can be built to 300-350hp. It may end up costing you more money because aftermarket parts are hard to find. You can do it for cheaper, but you've got to be patient. The CA is easier to get everyday maintenece parts for, but aftermarket performance parts are most easily had for the SR. As far as reliability goes, my greatest concern for the SR is the valvetrain, and weaker block construction, although as 300hp, I don't know that aspect is a concern yet.

get off your high horse bandwagon boy. you come on here asking a mundane question that has been answered a ton of times, and then you blow up at people because they tell you to search?

and no, you can't get something equal to a 300hp SR for the $1000 you save. Especially since you'll need to put some money into maintenance parts. The CA is an old engine, things are gonna be worn and in need of replacing before you even get around to modding it!

Now chill out, and read some old threads before asking such broad questions as "i know most of the faults of the sr..... i just wanna know the downsides to the ca"
