Arent KA/SR motor mounts the same....Ive heard people say they've had fitment problems. Just curious, never heard of anyone say they had to buy mounts. I might have a CA by thursday and its just the motor set.

The KA/SR mounts will work fine on the CA engine, I have used mostly KA mounts on Ca engines due to the Ca mounts being torched the heck out of them from Japan.

FWD or RWD? You can get CA specific NISMO motor mounts that help with the motor placement.

ka/sr mounts position the engine incorrectly!!

normal mounts mioght niot nmatter as much as they'd probably more or less sag into place but definately an issue with the NISMO mounts, get NISMO CA mounts in that case

I hadn ismo SRKA mounts and the engine was titled wrong, barely cleared my CA specific STB, and the shifter was flopped over such that 5th barely cleared the shifter trim and 1st waswhere 3rd should be.. not to mnetion it led to my wastegate actuator punturing my AC hose after awhile..

I have ka mounts on my ca right now, i had to custom weld a metal plate to my brackets so that it would fit the ka mounts. my engine sits about 1-3 inches higher than usual and my exuast vibrates against my chasi sometimes because its too high. If i were you id just get the ca mounts (which is what im planning on doing soon).

Wow. I have my stock KA drivers side mount, and CA passenger side mount and it sits fine.

Courtesy Nissan claims to stock them now, and if they don't have them in stock it'll be a few weeks to wait, but they are available. same #'s as SR but with -RS520 on the end instead of RS540 (so I think that off the top of my head it is 11220-RS520 and 11210-RS520 or something liek that ?)

Stock Ka mounts work fine without any issue with the engine sitting on a tilt. I have used them on all of my Ca RWD install and they work fine.If you got too much tilt when you used your Ka mounts, probably becuase your KA mounts are used and abused.

nismo mounts raise the engine some... normal KA mounts don't quite set the engine in the proper tilt, but it's not really that big of a deal. Hardly even noticeable unless you have a proper CA mounted car next to a KA mounted car.

here's what I'm wondering: would stock KA mounts work fine, or is it just that everyone is using 10 year old mounts ?

the KA/SR Nismo mounts didn't have two much tilt, rather they untilted the motor, which titled the transmission, so you could say they were "anti-tilt" and tilted the wrong way but it just doesn't make sense when you're looking at it and the motor is almost vertical vs flopped over as it should be, hardcore slant six style y0. they were also too tall, which was where the wastgate vs AC line problem came from more I think than the tilt (altho the tilt made other things not line up right)

did you put the mounts on the right side bio? SR mounts and KA mounts are the same, but on opposite sides. Did you run the SR mounts in their correct setup, or did you switch them around KA style?

hrm, didn't try putting them backwards. that is odd that they would be supposedly the wrong way around..

but the NISMO SR/KA mounts were nearly as tall both sides as each other so it would still have mounted the engine too flat, maye it would have made a tiny difference.. the CA mounts the LH(USDM driver's) side is significantly shorter to tilt the engine that way.

KA/SR NISMO mounts vs CA NISMO mounts. I've had both on my car and it definatly made a difference.

The motor sits more tilted with the CA mounts. It sits lower in the engine bay. (I could have taken the oil pan off with the motor still in the car with the KA/SR mounts, I don't think I can with the CA mounts) It also made bolting the transmission crossmember up MUCH easier. It was horribly aligned when I was using the KA/SR mounts. It lined right up with the CA mounts.

My vote from experience is to get the CA mounts. Their worth it and don't really cost that much more.

The ca mounts look to have the same bolt pattern as the ka ones.

Does that mean you would have to custom weld a metal plate to the s12 brackets in order for them to bolt on the the ca mounts? (just like the ka mounts w/s12 brackets?)

^what are you asking exactly... if you have an s12 use s12 mounts and brackets! CA20E and CA18ET mounts and brackets will fit on a CA18DET.

but the answer to what I believe you are asking is if CA18DET mounts and KA24 mounts bolt on the same way the answer is yes. The ONLY difference is a slight height difference between the two types of mounts. S12 mounts are all sorts of different and really shouldn't be used. They're a nasty liquid filled mount.

I have a ca18det engine with ca20e brackets on ka mounts, i just wanted to make sure that once i get my ca mounts if i would need to replace the brackets im currently using or if the brackets im currently using would work with the ca mounts. sorry to sound confusing.

So as per your explination, the ca20e brackets i have on right now will work with the ca mounts im getting without any furthur modifications to the bracket. haha get it? well thanks again!

ahh OK gotcha. If the brackets already fit KA mounts then you can run CA18DET mounts just fine
