Does anyone know of a company that sells engine dampners for the CA? Seen one on a CA in a magazine I think Super Street. I was thinking of using a SR one while modifying the engine plate , what do you guys think?

just make one, have a drill, and some random angles and stuff from home depot, then go to your local auto store and they have bins of hatch shoks and things like that wil work.

I really don't see how thats going to effectively dampen engine movement that much. If you are worried enough about it to want to buy aftermarket accessories, why not start with stiffer engine mounts?or just run a metal bar to the strut tower... that'd do it.

Torque dampeners are a load of crap IMHO. Stiffer engine mounts will serve the same purpose and do it much better.

I have the nismo motor and transmission mounts, but I want some extra stiffness. I have the KA though but if anyone has some good info on the subject please share it.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/636608

They are just a bandaid. If you want to correct the problem the right way, look into motor mounts.

I just don't see a hatch strut doing much... think about how much stronger the struts are ON YOUR CAR... and the whole car still shakes with the motor when you rev it...But I've never used one, thats just the thought process that makes me think that they prolly wouldn't help much.

An engine dampener is just a relatively cheap and easy way to dampen engine movement w/o having to go to all the trouble of changing all of the mounts. The correct way would be to change the mounts. If you do change them, there would be no need for the dampener (except for looks, and now you're a ricer :P ) because the mounts are doing the same thing, only better.

well hatch struts are pretty damn stiff, i mean i think it would work, try compressing one, its not very easy, and it doesnt have to be like ur car strut, its not the weight of the car on it
