what?

you either need sohc lines and compressor and CA18DET pulley, or custom lines and CA18DET compressor... your twin cam lines won't work with anything.

Well, if you have the fittings for the CA compressor, then you can just braze those fittings to the DOHC lines...

brazing = custom

thats what I did chris... worked really well. you can also tig weld them if you know someone who can weld aluminum.

So you can use the AC compressor from a Sohc Ka? I need A/C bad please give more info. I tried searching with "CA18DET A/C" but it comes up with other stuff.

Thanks,kim

I've got everything you would need to have working A/C on your car. I've got both lines, a SOHC compressor and a CA compressor. You can either swap the pullys, or I can have it done for you so that all you'd have to do it bolt it all up. That way it would be plug-n-play. No welding/brazing.

I don't know what it would be worth, so somebody make me an offer. I keep forgetting it's in the garage...

has anyone yet actually proved they are swappable?

also, the FSM shows two different CA compressors, once that looks nearly identical to the sohc KA one (and thus might be swappable) and the other that isn't (and possible not swappable); unfortunately I've two of the latter type (one of which is seized, the other is usable, probably)

my SOHC and CA compressor look identical except for the pully and the connections.

bastich :P

I should be able to use one of my compressors, but I want to see how far off they're positioned.. perhaps its feasible to grind down one side of the AC bracket and make a small spacer / user washers to fill the gap on the other side to move it back/forward (forget which way its off)

Hey Float, What do you want for the compress or with the pulley on it, I already have the sohc lines.
