I have my heart set on a black/black 2009 FX50 sport. I test drove one and definitely love the extra 2 cylinders vs my M35x, however, I don't necessarily need it. It really appeals that there aren't many FX 50's out there vs. the FX35's. The FX 50's all come with the nicer, 21" rims as well. I haven't had a chance to test drive the Fx35 yet.

I know the FX 50 only pumps out 14/city 20/highway, but as a sales rep, my company pays for a majority of my gas so I'm not worried about that too much.

Please give me any suggestions or advice from your experience with the FX35, FX50, or both.

Seems like nobody owns an FX35 or FX50. Nevertheless, I purchased an '09 black on black FX50 sport with 12,500 miles.

Congrats on your purchase. I just saw your post, but that's the vehicle I would've suggested.

Good choice. The FX50 is sweet. You should've got an FX50-S.

Congratulations on your purchase. I haven't logged on for a while, so I hadn't seen your post. I too would have suggested the FX50s considering that gas isn't an issue for you. I own a 2009 FX50s and really like it a lot. I'm getting about 16 mpg combined. I wish the fuel consumption was better, but I can live with it for now.

Depends on whether you want the bumpiest possible ride (FX50-S) or a more comfortable ride (FX50 non-sport). I would never buy an FX50-S since it shakes my fillings loose.

LOL! I had the same "problem" last December when I was deciding between a BMW X6 or FX50... I ultimately went with the Infiniti as I just couldn't justify the additional $20K. I also wanted the Sport, but after doing a bit of research I found that the rear active steering wouldn't be that useful on the streets of New York and it would really take a beating with the potholes and such. Also like the paddle shifters, but didn't think I'd use them enough to justify the extra $3K.

As far as the comparison of the 35 vs. the 50... the 35 is a great car, but the power of the 50 is intoxicating!

Enjoy the car!
