Buying a used 2017 Q50s

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking at possibly buying a used 2017 Infiniti Q50s 3.0t AWD. The car has 25,000 miles on it. Any advice on what to look for and if it’s a good year to purchase used?

Thanks in advance!

I don't see anything wrong with purchasing a 2017 car for as long as it is in a good condition.

Three things to look for. Price, price and price.

As long as it wasnt wrecked or abused there should be nothing wrong with it.

I looked hard at these cars for a while too, no major problem areas.
Turbos can go a bit early sometimes but thats about it.
engines are strong, transmissions are strong, rear ends are strong.

Number one on the replacement list are those awful run flat tires.

I just purchased a used 2017/ Q50 this passed November. I found one with 14,000 miles on it. Runs great no problems. Loaded, with cameras for surround view. I looked at the 50 sport, prices were too high.

If it's a 300hp 3.0 then all you need, at a minimum, is a BMS tuner to get to Red Sport performance. Easily snaps in and is removable, I always suggest Tunerzstore.com as I have purchased all of my parts from them for the last 12 years.

What’s your experience with this? Of course I want a little more power, but don’t want to mess anything up. Plus I still have some manufacturer warranty left on it.

I don't have any personal experience with it but from what I see they work well and are very well supported by the manufacturer. There is one downfall it seems, many who get them get the hp bug and eventually go full ECUTEK or similar tune so you can find these units for sale used. Infiniti-branded AMS HX and intakes are warranty friendly and would go hand-in-hand with that tuner.
