I am taking the car in to get the breaks done. Just wondering what I should be expecting for cost.

I recently replaced front pads and rotors on our 2003 Saturn VUE, myself. Parts (NAPA Ceramix and Ultra Premium) ran about $200, with tax.

No more front-end wobble under heavy braking.

If your just replacing the pads its very easy to do it yourself.

I just did a complete brake job myself including rebuilding the Calipers and having Napa turn the rotors for about $250.00

Akebono Pads and caliper rebuild kits from rockauto.com $180.00shipped$60 for turning rotorsand a quart of brake fluid

Are you supposed to repack the wheel bearings on a J30 or are they sealed?

If your putting in new rotoro either go with Nissan OEM or high end aftermarket. The J is a heavy car and cheap rotors warp in no time.
