I did regular driving for about 2K miles. No heavy foot, fast takeoffs or flooring the pedal during street driving. Now at 12K miles the car is Turboed and running like a champ at 7 PSI. So no I didn't follow those instructions, BUT we are not saying that you should not. Take your own judgement on this dude and whatever choice you make will be a correct one.

I followed just because it wouldn't hurt. I could go easy on my car for a few thousand miles no problem. I wasn't too strict on it though, I did floor it a couple times but come on I had a brand new Altima Coupe
But yes, now rearing up on 30k and my car is wonderful as expected.

Let's put it this way, if I needed to pass someone I would. 12k miles later and no problems what so ever. But it wouldn't be bad to follow these instructions if you don't have a heavy foot and self control(I have neither ).
