Well last nite 2 cars got broken into on my block exactly 2 houses away BUT we have a camera on both sides of are house SO my question is if i park in my driveway do i still need an alarm and if so WHERE can i go on LI bc i want a good place to do the viper w/ glass protection and "car keypad thing". The 2 houses were across from eachother and in the middle of the block where there arent street lights above them. Also they did it the night it was thundering so noone could here......these guys are smart. Oh and they werent "broken" into meaning no windows broken but somehow they got into them SO HOW DID THEY DO THAT??????

So help me out people you have many times b4 lol

Well not all cars need the glass broken to get in... take for instance a Neon, 1st generation. *Pulls on glass, puts coat hanger in, pulls unlock tab* Yay i'm in. 2 mins tops.

Any car without an alarm only takes 3 mins tops with out breaking glass.

I used to do this (Legally!) as part of my job. I used to work for a very large auto auction, and was the go-to when they needed to get into a car without causing damage to it.

All I did was find one of those kits that most tow truck drivers have, and practice. It doesnt take much skill, place wedge in door to pry open a bit at top of door, then like stated above, use bars provided to either pull up lock or press auto unlock........ its literally that easy.

So I recommend getting an alarm.

Ive been trying to find a reputable place for a while myself. I want to get a viper pager alarm with a remote start. I had bestbuy install a remote starter on a prior vehicle and they did a terrible job(I should have known better)

Honestly I dont think that an alarm is going to work in a situation where there is thunder and lightning. I have to turn my alarm off if the thunder is really bad because of the vibrations, the shock sensor is always going off. After about three times of the remote going off I just turn the alarm off and lock it with the key fob. I'm not too sure if you can change the sensitivity level of it but mustangs w/ flowmasters and harleys set my alarm off if they are too close. Ive got the Viper 5901 too.
