In Canada they all came with Goodyear Eagle GT II All Seasons which where very top of the line for the early 90's. I've run those (which I loved), Pirelli's(just ok) and currently Dunlops(which I'm very pleased with).

The owner's manual indicates Yokohama/Bridgestone and I know the dealerships like to sell Yokohama (they don't last long) as replacements, but I can recall some Goodyear tires too, possibly as an upgrade.

And check out my responses to your key question.

Not lasting long usually means a superior gripping tire I don't like rolling on Hard rubber.

Superior to and tighter than my grip on my money? Give me the miles, but it is no noisy snow tires for me too though.
