They like to talk about what they're going to do to fix the problem, but I'm losing faith. It's been over two weeks (I've gotten a bill for my first payment) and I still don't have the car I bought. They have until Friday before I start calling lawyers.
It turns out that my car actually caught on fire while the dealership was trying to fix it (a short in the wiring harness). I have talked to at least a dozen Nissan people, from dealership personnel to customer service people to arbitration people. I have left countless messages that haven't been returned, including a message to the owner of the dealership where I bought the car. The replacement car has been sitting at the dealership for a week now, but I can't pick it up until Nissan figures out how to do the paperwork on it. Jerry's has called me into their dealership (45 miles from my house) to sign paperwork from Nissan to "expedite the process". The manager is furious with Nissan because I'm still no closer to getting my car. Jerry's Nissan has been awesome (thank god I didn't have to go back to the one where I bought the car). They're fed up as well -- they're getting the same answers that I'm getting, which means they aren't getting answers. They've given me the names and phone numbers of everyone they've talked to, hoping that talking to a paying customer would motivate them to speed up the process--it didn't. If I ever do buy another Nissan it will ONLY be to repay Jerry's Nissan in Weatherford, TX for all the help they have given me.
Sorry to write a book, but it's playing out like a bad movie. I hope I'm not the only one surprised by this whole ordeal.
