I don't think you are going to piss anyone off... we just like to make sure. We've had plenty of people accidentally tap that emergency brake pedal while entering/exiting their Q and then ask questions about their brake light. BTW... please click the link in my sig. One great way to convince everyone that you're "not retarded" is to use proper punctuation and capitilation. :-)
Quote »on the display message in the dash it reads "brake pads warn" and i know that the sensor in the pad is the wear sensor, i have replaced both the abs sensor and the wear sensor in both the front and the rear, i am very aware that the abs light on the dash means somethings wrong with the abs, and the "brake" red light means ebrake is applied or in some vehicles it means a brake light is out... with the new wear sensor replaced how do i turn of the message in the dash "brake pads warn"?????[/quote]Usually the message will clear on its own after sensor replacement. So... either there is an issue with how the sensor reset, an issue with the installation, or some other issue that I am not aware of that would cause that message to trip in the computer.
I might try unplugging the wear sensor harness at the caliper and cleaning with some electrical parts cleaner. Maybe put some non-corrosive conductive lubricant on there. Vaseline maybe? Check to make sure the plug has actually seated properly... mine always seems to be a fight to get it to actually plug all the way. I had to use pliers to get it to actually "snap" in place last time I did it. If that doesn't clear the message... try unplugging your battery for a minute or two and then plugging it back in. That will give computers time to clear any current messages.
If it is still reading a warning for brakes after that... then you need more epxertise than I can provide. Tech, Wes, or someone will be able to offer more insight. Good luck.
