Recently noticed brake warning light on. Was low on fluid. Added fluid, light went off. Today...4days later, warning light is dimly lit. Fluid is full. Alternator is making slight whining sound...like bearings are going out. This is a new problem. There are no other warning lights illuminated.

Does anyone see a correlation?

Well normally I get the brake warning light in the winter time and I add brake fluid and then it's fine. But you said your reservoir is full. I would take it to a mechanic with a voltmeter and check the alternator and battery.

Sounds like alternator. Bad alternator lights up the "brake" sensor.

it usually will light up the battery light as well is it also dimly lit? rev the engine over 2000 rpm and hold it there for a few seconds. watch the lights and see if they start to illiminate more also turn on head lights and heater blower as well as rear defroster. that will put a load on the charge system. then with all those items on let it idle and watch for illumination of the lights. But I would say you got an alt goin out.

I agree... my ABS light always lit up with the brake lamp with an alternator failure. Eventually a "LOW BATTERY" message will come on in the trip meter display area.
