Thanks all for the great information. After 74K on my 03, I am replacing all 4 corners. Ordered the Royalty rotors and the Hawk HPS from Frozen Rotors, used the code, it worked! 15% off the total! Will do the install myself.

Again, thanks for all the information.

Great thread. I just ordered the Royalty Rotors to replace the stock ones that are pretty much shot @ 42K miles. $578 shipping for all four corners.Any follow up on the Hawk ceramic pads with these rotors? I'm guessing it will be awhile until there is enough miles on the cars to really make a determination if the ceramic pads chew these rotors up. Unless there are track days involved.

So far I have only put in 500+ miles since I made the change to this set up. I am very happy with it's braking performance though. Way better compared to the stock rotors. On the first two weeks I had this set up, I noticed quite a bit of dust from the bed in process. But now, I see no dust at all. It's super quite and the grip is just amazing. I also noticed the zinc coating to wear slightly but very little signs of rusting even after getting rained out or after washing. I still feel a little roughness though when you apply the brakes compared to non slotted and non drilled rotors. That's quite understandable though since the pads comes in contact to the rotors holes and slots which are not smooth compared to plane rotors. With regards to wearing on the rotors from the ceramic pads. Too early to tell, I still have to drive a lot to probably even noticed it. I'll update again in the future. Hope this helps.

That sucks. However, I noticed they carry a new line "roto-tech" which are slotted and drilled too. Regardless of which cryo brand you choose, it's the process that you are really buying that makes frozen rotors a better choice than non-cryo treated rotors. So, any cryo brand they carry is a good choice. Good luck.

I had the frozen ones put on last weekend and so far, they're GREAT!!!!

Of course, I thought the same thing when the EBC slotted & dimpled non-frozen ones first went on too.

Update in a few months.....

I ordered roto-tech rotors and hawk hps pads last week and installed them myself the other day. Freakin bolts for the backet were really hard to break loose. Only did the fronts for now since the OEM were wraped and cause steering wheel shiming during braking.

After the break in process the brakes smelled weird. lolI noticed this rotors and pad combination were really noisey from inside the car. It makes the same exact noise as if your rotors were wet from a car wash. Does anyone else with hawk hps pads find this normal? Other than that the pads have great bite when they have some heat on them. When they are cold it doesnt have that good bite to it.

I have the same rotors but my pads are hawk ceramics. I have not experienced any weird smell during the bed in process. I have put in 2500 miles since installation and love the stopping power of this set up. The only thing I can complain is the little "thud" noice everytime I release the brakes otherwise this thing is like a tractors brake on a car.

From the looks of it, the rotors don't seem that hard to replace. I'm assuming they (rotors) are "sandwiched" to the hub when you lock down the lugnuts?

Replacing rotors and pads arent that hard. It took me 40 minutes to do the fronts. Caliper bolts are size 14 and the bracket bolt is size 22. Theres videos on youtube showing step by step.

I just ordered myself these Roto tech Cryo rotors with some EBC Redstuff ceramic pads. You got any pics to share ?
