Ya this is happening to me, not often at all though. Maybe a couple times a month.

Happens to me too; usually when I get a brake light warning I check my brake fluid and it will be a little low (maybe I need to have the stealership to check for a leak), so add some brake fluid to the max line and you should be good for about six months.

Generally if your brake light is popping up on the dash while driving, you are low on brake fluid - check it out....if it's constantly doing it even after filling, you may want to bring it in to see if a hose is leaking or something.

Mine kept popping up too. I took it to the dealership and they just tightened up my ebrake and then it went away. I had a couple of other problems but i dont think it had anything to do with the brake light though.

i thought i needed brake fluid and it fixed the problem the first time around but the real problem was the master cylinder had a internal leak so they replaced under warrenty

That is my exact problem. Ive had this problem for over a year now and im just 2 darn lazy to take it in. At first i could jiggle the ebrake and it would go away, now its permanent. It would also come and go before but not anymore.

I had this problem a while back and I took it in and they had to replace the master cylinder under warranty also.

+100000 brake fluid. Take it to the dealer (as I assume you're still under warranty) because they'll put what they use in it and if you do indeed have a leak somewhere (as little as a line, as big as the master cylinder itself) then they can't try and con you out of fixing it because "you tried to fix it yourself and used the wrong fluid" or some other ridiculous excuse.

I had this happen a week after I bought my car and it was brake fluid. It's been fine ever since they refilled.

what reason do you think they'll give saying that the warranty wont cover it? ive had my calipers painted n but in eibachs, think theyll try and blame it on that??

they can say some bs about the paint but i really doubt it an the springs have nothing to do with the brakes so they cant say anything about that

damn lol well hopefully they wont try to void my warranty cuz of the paint, i mean they HAVE to prove that it was a direct result of the paint right?

this just started happening to me today, i hope it has nothing to do with brake fluid, cause i just thought i hit the e-brake so i pressed it and it was down already but the light went out, i dont know if i was ripping it then or not. Does this have anything to do with maintenance #2 on the nissan schedule, cause i missed that lol

I highly doubt they'll say painting the calipers will be something they'll try to void your warranty over. I was only saying that you should have them check your brake fluid (because that's what's setting it off) and make sure you don't have any leaks. If you take it in, what will prob happen is they'll refill the brake fluid, and tell you to keep an eye on the level to see if it decreases over time. If it does, they'll have to take a closer look at the brake lines or whatnot to look for a leak.

Now if you jacked up your brake lines while painting your calipers, that's another story.

And in reference to it being a maintenance item, i don't think it's something that'll come up. I'm sure there's a fluid flush somewhere far down the road, but otherwise, no.
