Thanks to 3Q Jay shaming me about my dirty looking brake fluid reservoir, I’ve decided to have a brake fluid flush service. I was told by someone that on Infiniti/Nissan you need a Nissan computer to properly bleed the system and open the ABS? Any truth to this or can I take it to my local mechanic for this job?

Valving in the ABS is all "normally open" so mechanical bleeding will work fine, but of course requires an assistant. We do it with the C3+ only because it makes it into a solo job.

Brake fluid should be replaced every 2-3 years since it's hygroscopic and absorbs moisture, which can lead to soft pedal feel and rust in the system. Dark brake fluid is overdue for maintenance.

Looking good. If that $177 saves the seals on your ABS Actuator, that becomes a bargain.
