Electrical problems are not as scarey as most think. process of elimination is key. First check both bulbs and go ahead and put in 2 new ones. Second check the sockets they tend to oxidize and cause no contact to bulbs. if neither fix it get a multi meter and start probing behind sockets or into the plugs to see if you are getting power to the sockets. if not then check grounds first. bad ground will kill the entire side. DO lights work ??? tail light brake light etc. ? get back to me if none of this works.

Not sure just follow the wires from the assy and find out. If grounds are bad just jump from grnd wire to closest spot on chassis and make new grnd.

I don't know about your turn signal problem, my turn signals haven't had any. 1000 dollars is a killer deal as long as its not rusted out, especially with 53,000 miles, thats really low mileage for that truck. I paid $5,800.00 in 2007 for my truck with 112,000 miles, but I had to have it, they are kind of hard to find around Michigan. Too bad my dad crashed the front fender into a gas station,(the drivers side), otherwise its a nice truck. If you look at my picture, you can see the front bumper is a little distorted, but I sure wasn't going to put the bad sde on here!

Contact cleaner a wire brush or sand paper. Scrape all the corrosion out and it should be fine. The squeal is a loose or worn belt most likely. Check belts for wear, if cracked replace them all, it is cheap insurance not to break a belt. I did all 3 of mine for like 30 bucks and 1 - 1.5 hours. Not hard at all just got to get a little dirty. On the socket use contact cleaner and scrape it with small wire brush or sand paper. Even a pocket knife can do it. it is a pain as socket is small but most parts places have small wire brushes cheap just for that stuff.

Put meter on horn connections and make sure when horn is pressed it gets power, check for bad grounding or maybe the horn button on steering wheel is bad. To remove the pad on horn there is a hidden philips screw under the wheel, turn wheel and you can see it, then turn back to start position and remove. I had to use a side mounted driver as mine was tight as all get out.

Had to replace the headlights today. I also replaced all the belts. Look at the horn while I had the grill off connections are rusted pretty bad on horn as well as the connecter. I think I'm gonna have to replace the ball joints loud noise on uneven turns any tips on this project. I'll post pic of the truck hopefully tommorrow.

Your loud noise on uneven turns could be your steering stops. They should have a nylon cover on them that wears off leaving your with a nasty metal to metal screach when making a turn over a bump with the steering wheel turned to the lock. You can grease them for a temporary fix, or buy the nylon covers from Nissan.

I had the turn signal issue too... I sanded the socket down with a dremel tool and greased the bulb with dielectric grease to reduce future corrosion.

You will want to download your FSM (factory service manual) from our library... it's very heplful on all of these maintenence projects! http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Ditto on the "you stole it" comments... My neighbor offered me $3K cash for my '97 with 135K on it the other day. I am tempted
