Snow is snow and salt is salt. It doesn't matter if it's Canadian salt or american salt. It's a 15 year old car that's been in the snow and salt all its life.naladude911 wrote:Its only been in NY for 5 years. I used to live in vancouver Canada, and my dad imported it here when we moved from there.
The speaker amps are just snap-on/snap-off, aren't they? Or is soldering needed?gr8scott72 wrote:

The front 2 speakers have the amps mounted in the speaker box seperate of the speakers but the rear 2 speakers have the amps mounted inside the speakers.
The rear speaker amps are built into the speaker basket.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

It hardly snows in Vancouver. They get tons of rain instead.gr8scott72 wrote:

If you want new speakers, then you need to find some 5x7s for your fronts & a good pair of tweeters to replace the ones in the A-pillar (if your J has them).naladude911 wrote:its a brand new headunit. i found some speakers though....http://www.crutchfield.com/App...S69C2

If you want to put 5x7s in the front, you will have to custom fit them. The stock speakers are in their own incloser under the door panel and they are like 4" speakers.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

Also, try buying some with the peak wattage higher than your max output of the head unit. Makes things a whole lot easier as far as durability is concerned.
I just say buy some 4" speakers that are 3-ways. That way, you have an equal distribution of highs, mids, & lows.naladude911 wrote:They are 4" speakers, and I dont have tweeters . How hard would it be to wire tweeters in though, all I need is the 94+ J30 A Pillar, tweeters, wiring, etc. The 93 isnt prewired right.
Make sure that they wire them up correctly before leaving the lot.naladude911 wrote:well, for some reason 3/4 speakers worked today. No weird noises, or carbine simmulation lol. Weird. I think there going though so im going to go get my instalation estimate for those speakers before I buy them.
You won't be able to tell from a camera phone. It only has one microphone. You can't tell spacial sounds coming from one microphone. That's why God gave you two ears.naladude911 wrote:ya... I couldnt really tell, but i appreciate your help. Today I met my first NICO member and his 240. Pretty sweet, we laughed at all the ricers. Anyways, my speakers are acting up again, so screw it, im buying those Alpine's next week.
